La Fermettede Pointe-Saint-Charles
Grow. Transform. Share.

A neighbourhood food hub, right behind Bâtiment 7.

We grow food, transform it and share it across the neighbourhood: collective gardens, a greenhouse, hens, beehives, a solidarity kitchen and, soon, a market garden. La Fermette is a local food system built by and for Pointe-Saint-Charles.

Our mission

A fair, sustainable food system, driven by the community.

La Fermette was born of a neighbourhood need: to create a food hub in the south of Pointe-Saint-Charles, an area considered a food desert.

La Fermette de Pointe-Saint-Charles is a community organization working at the heart of its local food network, putting in place solidarity-based actions that help reduce food insecurity and isolation.

Our model

Grow, transform, share

Three pillars, one neighbourhood food system: from seed to plate, in the heart of Pointe-Saint-Charles.

Growing

Collective gardens, a greenhouse, a henhouse and beehives — and soon the Champ de la Pointe, a bio-intensive market garden.

Transforming

In our MAPAQ-certified kitchen: low-cost meals, canning and cooking workshops, made from our harvests and rescued food.

Sharing

A solidarity grocery, neighbourhood grocery stores, direct sales at the kitchen, a community fridge, local organizations, market stands and community BBQs.
